Each day through Advent, I plan to post the story I wrote for my grandchildren to go with their Jesse Trees. Today’s is very short:
God made our first father and our first mother, and a beautiful garden for them to live in. He gave them everything, and only asked that they not eat the fruit of one special tree. But Adam and Eve did eat the fruit. Disobeying God brought sin into the world, because it meant that Adam and Eve weren’t working for God’s plan.
God still loved Adam and Eve, but they couldn’t live in the beautiful garden any more now that they weren’t working for his plan. Even though he made them leave the garden, God also made a promise to Adam and Eve: that God would always love them.
